We've got more Guitar Month goodness for you on tonight's show. We start with the legendary Canadian singer-songwriter-guitarist Colin James, in session at CBC Toronto. This was the warmup for his sold-out Massey Hall show, which happened the next day. The band was putting the tunes together right in the session - but from the tightness of their sound, you would never know it. This recording offers a great glimpse into the ever-maturing sound of one of this country's most solid musicians.
After that, we turn our attention to two up-and-comers from the East Coast: Garrett Mason and Keith Hallett. Both are young bluesmen with skills beyond their years. The two share the stage of the Halifax Jazz Festival, and lay down grooves and solos that could have come from men twice their age.
Check out all the blues guitar power here and here, or simply tune in tonight. It's all part of Guitar Month here at CBC Radio 2.
