As we continue reading Neil Young’s new memoir, Waging Heavy Peace, I'm tracking down people with interesting stories to share about Canada's most iconic rocker. Last week's post ignited a minor furor when Jason Schneider discussed his disinterest in reading his musical hero's book.
I have a cheerier story to tell you this week, courtesy of Mike Belitsky, drummer extraordinaire of the Sadies, who are not only on tour across Canada right now with Neil Young and Crazy Horse, but once backed Uncle Neil up in the studio. See above for the lowdown from Belitsky.
I have one copy of Waging Heavy Peace to offer to the first people (not employed by the CBC) who post below to answer the following question, which is answered in the video above. Also note: you must be willing and able to take part in this book club every week and you can’t take your book and “return” it to a book retailer in exchange for credit. I mean, you can do this; it’s been done. But you really, really shouldn’t. Here is the question:
1. What did Belitsky leave behind after his recording session with Neil Young?
If I tell you that you had the winning post below, please send your name (real and blog), mailing address and winning answer/question to rock@cbc.ca with “Lionel Trains” in the subject line.
