Okay, I got the anxiety and bitterness outta my system on yesterday's show. Today I celebrate all that was joyous about my time at Pop Montreal with a focus on the Pop BBQ that took place at Notman House this past Saturday and jointly organized by Mint Records, Out of this Spark, Fuzzy Logic Recs, and Do Right! I basically dished all the dirt on the BBQ on a Sunday morning blog post, so please read that for some background info. To hear it come to life though, you gotta listen to today's show for some insightful interviews. And fine, yes, a little more bitterness.

Today, you'll hear the following (but experience no bold text):

Stuart Duncan of Out of this Spark (pictured above with Mint Records' Shena Yoshida) talking about Pop Montreal and his label's upcoming plans
SD

Montreal resident Simon Trottier of Timber Timbre discussing PM's impact on his city
ST

Fuzzy Logic's Maria Bui making things awkward and face-painting her way into our hearts
MB

Kat Burns of Forest City Lovers comparing PM to other fests and discussing her band's new video for "Tell Me, Cancer"
KB

Montreal-via-Toronto-via-Toronto-again's More or Les talks about hip-hop in Montreal and his forthcoming album of hate, Brunch with a Vengeance
LES

My festival buddy system buddy, Mike Feuerstack of Snailhouse talks Montreal, festivals, and his new EP, Monumental Moments
MF

Tasseomancy celebrate their 26th birthday tonight at a 7-inch release party in Toronto with Castlemusic and someone who de-friended me on Facebook
TASS

Did you or anyone you know attend Pop Montreal this year? If so, what were some highlights or buzz-worthy things you experienced/heard about? Why would anyone de-friend me on Facebook?! I'm like, a cool guy, and stuff. What local musical events and/or festivals are you most looking forward to over the next while?
