For over two years Canadian pop powerhouse Justin Bieber has laid claim to the most watched video ever on YouTube – until early Saturday.
Since its February 2010 release, the video for Justin Bieber's "Baby" has racked up over 800 million views, making it by far the most watched video on YouTube; but in a few short months, the unforgettable video for Psy's "Gangnam Style" has now surpassed that mark.
The South Korean sensation's video, which has spurred its own dance craze, had already achieved several online records, including becoming the most liked video on the site.
As of Saturday morning, the clip had over 5.3 million likes and fewer than half a million dislikes, while Bieber's "Baby" has 1.4 million likes and nearly 3.2 million dislikes.
But before you start sending out condolences, take heart: the Biebs is just one step away from reigning supreme over the Twitterverse, where he has 30.6 million followers, which is just shy of Lady Gaga's 31.5 million - and dwarfs Psy's paltry 1.38 million.
