Guitar Month may be winding down and coming to an end, but our Greatest Guitar Riff tournament is sure heating up! Last week, after gruelling debate and thousands of votes, we bid farewell to popular riffs by Neil Young, Cream, The Guess Who and Dire Straits.
Today we launch round two, the semi-finals, in our battle of the greatest riff ever made, ever played. Either of today's competitors should easily be in the final round, but there is only one winner and your vote counts. One song is a timeless composition released in 1958 and still sounds fresh to this day (in fact my eight year old nephew is currently learning it on guitar). The other song, originally recorded and written by Bob Dylan, remains as haunting and powerful as it did when recorded back in 1968. Both songs are definitive to their decade and both artists were a major influence on what was to come in the world of music.

Squaring off today is the unforgetable '50s classic "Johnny B. Goode" by Rock'n'Roll monarch Chuck Berry up against one of the greatest guitarists of all time, Jimi Hendrix, with his incredible '68 version of "All Along the Watchtower."
Who will advance and make it to the final round? It's entirely up to you!
