Ron Sexsmith is a much revered Canadian singer/songwriter who, despite the admiration, has never had a hit song...and he would dearly love one. Now it would be fair to say this is a reality for many a musician, but not all of them talk about it.
Debuting tonight at the Vancouver International Film Festival is Love Shines - a rock/documentary about Sexsmith at a rather introsective place in his career. The film follows him on to Los Angeles as he records his 12th album with producer Bob Rock, probably best known for his work with Metallica. The film also traces Sexsmith's musical and personal road over the past decades.
