What 5 songs would you put in a time capsule in hopes to be heard by future generations?
There are a group of singers from the Bac Ninh province in North Vietnam who are trying to save songs. In Vietnam, pop music is taking over, so this group sings traditional "quan ho" love songs in the hope of keeping the ancient art form alive.
They sing these songs wherever they can, and to encourage foreign interest in the art, they’ve posted a phone number you can call to hear them sing, for free, live on the phone.
Today I’ll give them a call!
The passion for saving these traditional Vietnamese love songs has me thinking about our own Canadian music. What song would you sing to save?

Today Justin Rutledge will shed some light on the songs he’d save, as he’ll be stopping by before his gig tonight at St. James Hall.
