Back in early September, we asked you to nominate a stretch of road to be immortalized in song, one for each province and territory. After receiving hundreds of nominations, you cast your votes for the one road that best represented your province or territory, and 13 artist sequestered themselves for three weeks to write and record songs about those roads.
This morning, Lisa Christiansen will play five of those songs. Have a listen, and tell us what you think. Did they get it right? Need to hear more? Tune in to Radio 2 Drive this afternoon, to catch Rich Terfry, who will play all thirteen songs and chat with the artists, or sample the songs on CBC2, OR, just go and buy all thirteen songs on iTunes.
And if you're going to be in Toronto on Tuesday night, October 26th, you can catch each songwriter perform their song live at the Great Canadian Song Quest Concert. The concert will also be streamed online, on the CBC Radio 2 site, starting at 8 pm ET.
