It’s the weekend, but not any ‘ol weekend. This is another one of our odd North American mash-ups of candy and paganism. But hey, we’re pretty good at putting stuff together and making them somehow fit. I say somehow because sometimes, well… more on that after the Top Five Gigs:
October 29 - Sarah Harmer with Joey Wright, Halifax, NS - Rebecca Cohn.
October 30 - Dan Mangan Ottawa Ontario, First Baptist ChurchFolk
October 30 - Wassabi Collective, Revelstoke BC, River City Pub.
October 31 - Young Galaxy, Edmonton, Alberta Winspear Centre.
October 31 - Diamond Rings, PS I LoveYou, Technical Kidman, Montreal, Quebec, Motore.
I’ll be talking to Young Galaxy on the show today to find out how a band works a costume into a live Halloween performance. I’m guessing my Gorilla suit just wouldn’t cut it.
And back to the mixing… this Halloween also marks the debut of Justin Bieber’s video “Never Say Never” during the 3rd game of the World Series. Apparently Bieber sports gear from both the Rangers and the Giants.
I’m not exactly sure how baseball fans feel about being um, treated to a new Bieber video, but it doesn’t matter – it’s a home run.
So on this sweet and scary weekend, what do you think about all this mixing of messages.
DOES IT MAKE SENSE TO DEBUT MUSC VIDEOS AT A BASEBALL GAME? - or any other such odd combination.
Side note: Brent Hodge is dressed as a chicken.
