I have for years fought to say the word ‘carmel’. Yes, ‘caramel’ is delicious (and is somehow put in the centre of a Caramilk Bar) but I have grown to reference halloween ‘carmels’ as a whole different treat.
Those tasty morsels were known as carmels in my neighbourhood in the 80’s. Wrapped in retro Halloween wax paper , they were by far the first thing that went out of my trick or treat bag.
But what about you?
What Halloween treats did you look forward to?
Any neighbours known for the good stuff (whole chocolate bars)?
The bad stuff (cans of pop)?
Do you say carmel or caramel?
Did you live by a dentist and get toothbrushes?
And, how old is too old to go trick-or-treating?
Joining me today will be Dr. Kanani, and orthodontist who is buying back kids Halloween candy in Surrey and Langley, BC. We’ll see if he, in fact, is trying to ruin Halloween or just hates Pagan holidays.
