Songs with a lotta heart

Are you the type of person who follows your heart when it tells you to do something even though your head tells you to do something else? Perhaps you find that following your heart is one of the most difficult things to do. Well, you’re not alone.

After all, the heart is hardly practical and yes, your heart will frequently get you into trouble. There's no doubt about that. But at least you’ll have a good story to tell, or maybe a song to write, if you follow it.

Toronto's Wildlife know all about the nagging questions of the heart. With their latest album, they explore all matters of the heart, its questions, its challenges. It’s an album they describe as follows: An essay, a love letter, a tribute to the heart itself. I guess that explains why it's called, On The Heart.

Their song “Born to Ruin,” (not "Born to Run" as I had initially read it, though that's also a pretty heartfelt number) was the number one song on the R3-30 last week. This week, the soaring pop anthem lands at the number 11 spot.

And, speaking of the the heart..

HOW MANY "HEART" SONG TITLES CAN YOU NAME?

Mother Mother - "Oh My Heart"

Divine Fits - "For Your Heart"

Neil Young - "Heart of Gold"

Bryan Adams - "Straight From the Heart"

Tony Bennett (written by George Cory/Douglass Cross) - "I Left My Heart In San Francisco"

Stevie Nicks - "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around"
