Wednesday March 27th

Watch Yannick Nézet-Séguin direct the Orchestre Métropolitain in this video clip of the "Dies irae" from Verdi’s Requiem, recorded live by CBC/Radio-Canada at the Maison symphonique in Montreal on Sunday, Mar. 24, 2013. His motions are never wasted, and are clearly a performance all their own.

In Notre-Dame, the Cathedral is getting a renovation. Since the 19th century, the same bells have been ringing. Over a stretch that long, bells lose their tune and become dissonant with the other ringing around them. 9 new bells will ring in Notre-Dame shortly, allowing Quasimodo to sleep more soundly.

The Lemon Bucket Orkestra are an incredible and talented band of players. In fact, they are so talented that an Air Canada delay wasn't a problem, but instead a chance for them to use what instruments they had in their carry-ons to delight a whole plane-ful of folks.

The Alberta Ballet is about to begin performing a routine based on K.D. Lang's musical career. They've given it a groaner of a title: BALLETLUJAH! Regardless of how it sounds, the ballet promises to be incredible. Previously, Joni Mitchell's music became a ballet.
