Sun Studio in Memphis, Tenn., calls itself the birthplace of rock 'n' roll. That’s a big claim, and a lot of it is staked on one man who started his recording career there. Sixty years ago, Elvis Presley walked into Sun Studio for the first time.
To celebrate, CBC Music invited the Sheepdogs to that very studio for an extraordinary recording session. The band lays down three awesome new versions of Elvis songs, plus two of their own songs.
Next Wednesday, CBC Music will reveal the songs and the videos of the Sheepdogs at Sun Studio. In the meantime, check out the trailer above for a taste of what to expect, and check out the videos below for a look behind the scenes.
