If Van Halen ever needs someone to sit in on drums for Alex Van Halen, they could do worse than this young guy.
His name is Avery Molek, he's 6 years old and he's been drumming since he was two. Apparently, he can learn songs by ear and even goes on tour.
His dad told ABC News, "When he was 2 we did what every parent does, you go to Toys R' Us and buy your child an instrument. We bought him drums and a guitar and he gravitated to the drums.
It wasn't long before he started getting the feel of the beats of songs and then he just kept progressing. Just before he turned 4, he played "Mississippi Queen" almost perfectly. I asked him how and he said, 'Just by listening to it.' "
Avery also has his own website, where he's posted more than 40 drum covers including Guns N Roses Welcome To The Jungle, Jimi Hendrix Purple Haze, KISS Rock And Roll All Nite, Flo Rida Whistle, Bruce Springsteen Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, and his latest at the top - Van Halen Hot For Teacher.
And according to the website, Avery has played 15 shows - six of which were solo one hour shows.
Avery told ABC he likes drumming because, "It's very fun and you can sometimes rock out on things."
