Tuesday April 9th 2013
There's not many professions where being disorganised is an admirable quality.
Preparations for Mozart's Piano Concerto N21 were so disorganised even some of the musician's parts weren't fully written out come the day of the dress rehearsal.
Completed just 30 days after his previous Concerto, audiences awaited Mozart's latest work with baited breath. Would things fall apart on stage? Would the musicians collapse under the stress? Would Wolfie's wig fall off? In this case, disorganisation equalled excitement!
Today on SHIFT you'll hear Mozart's hymn for the disorganised, his Piano Concerto N21. Here's a taste of the Concerto played by the very organised Jan Lisiecki.
