Happy Thursday!
And Happy American Thanksgiving!!
Hi everyone, I'm Michelle, and I'm pleased to be the listener co-host for this very special U.S. Tofurky Day. You might know me on the blog as michelka, and if not, it's nice to meet you! Today's show has been recoreded in the sunny Dressup Studio at The CBC, with the honourable Craig Norris, who is the reigning king of Casey's tree.
I'm a proud Canadian living in Ferndale, Michigan with my future-husband Chad and dog Eleanor Dogby and we all love, love, love Radio 3. I grew up in Windsor Ontario, spent some time in Oakville at art school, and now work in Michigan as a digital artist, repainting and colouring 3D cars. I hope one day to be able to illustrate children's books full time or part time or anytime. I've always found that nothing goes better then getting lost in drawing and having music to go along with it. Also nothing is better than Radio 3 for me.
My question today deals with childhood nostalgia. I have many happy memories of watching a Canadian children's programme called Mr. Dressup on The CBC as a child. When I came to Toronto to record this show, I toured the CBC Museum which has a variety of paraphernalia from the CBC's history, including Mr. Dressup. I pretty much geeked out about it, having Chad take my photo next to the glass and sending a few photos to my sister! (You can tease me... now?)
This inspired me to go online to watch videos of Mr. Dressup and I found it to be just as awesome as I remembered. I truly had a new appreciation for Ernie Coombs' (Mr. Dressup) talents.
So my question of the day to you, my ridiculously awesome blog friends, is what nostalgic tv shows/music can you still get excited about? Is everything still like you remember?
