The Paperbacks have a great song called “The Architecture You Despise”. It comes to mind every time I walk home from the grocery store, as I pass by my favourite building to hate, I have nicknamed it ‘Old Brownie’.
It’s sad to think I have a hate crush on this poor apartment building, but it’s true. I even point it out to friends. The three story 1970’s cement structure looks like a brown tissue box. I hate it. I even feel bad for the tenants, as each apartment appears to only have 2 windows. Architecture fail.
Funny enough, today GOOD blog asked about buildings and structures that inspire you. It’s as if they heard me ranting about ‘Old Brownie’ last night and thought a positive spin was a must. Bless them.
What architecture do you despise? Why?
What makes the list of inspirational buildings and structures?
