The sun always seems to shine on CBC3 in some weird way, and so it was great to get this post from CBC Q producer Tori Allen:
"The best thing about the OFF is, of course, its acronym. But after that, their eclectic workshop programming made the weekend. Where else would you see collections of musicians with titles like "I Spit on Your Rave", "Labour Pains" (starring an 8-month pregnant Coco Love Alcorn) and "Folk the 80's"?
But the highlight was Brother Love's Travelling Salvation Show, featuring homegrown indie outfits the Hidden Cameras and Bruce Peninsula sharing the stage with Grammy-winning hip hop clan Arrested Development, jaunty Americana trio Hoots & Hellmouth and local Ottawa heroine Jill Zmud.
The Ottawa Folk Festival is also probably the only event where you might see a chair-sitter go OFF and get into a fist fight with a lawn-stander in front of the main stage."
While we can't play Brother Love's Travelling Salvation Show (unless they upload it to CBC3 - hint!), we can feature the Hidden Camera's "in the Na"
