Not to keep stirring the pot (you know that’s what I will do), I’m going to pick up from yesterday’s discussion re: kids, toys, books.
I fully intended only to do some discussion on toys for Christmas but I found this list at Gawker’s sister blog site Jezebel. Under “What To Buy For the Kids” I found The Jolly Postman Christmas book. Nice, right? Well, it came with this descriptor: “Be the uncool aunt who always gives books!”
And yes, the comments section picked up on this theme with all kinds of people expressing their desire to be uncool and buy books… and yes, there was also the video of the 3-year-old boy showing his displeasure over books for Christmas (see yesterday’s post).
What did I miss? When did buying books become the pretentious and annoying thing to buy a kid for Christmas?
