Well, even with Stillepost down and out, I've managed to find out about a lot of live music going on across this maple glazed country of ours and, on today's National Hum show, I'll be talking about most of it! If my research is correct, here's what's happening:
- Twin Shadow and Pat Jordache play La Sala Rosa (4848 St Laurent) in Montreal tonight
- The Meligrove Band are headlining a show at the Horseshoe (368 Queen St. W.) in Toronto this Thursday evening
- New Country Rehab celebrate the release of their new CD at the El Mo (464 Spadina Ave.) in Toronto on a busy Friday night
- Also Friday, Lullabye Arkestra (pictured above) and Quest for Fire appear at Steelworkers Hall (25 Cecil St.) in Toronto
- Abdominal and More or Les host Hip-Hop Karaoke Toronto at Revival (783 College St.) Friday night
- catl blues-rock the Dakota (249 Ossington) in Toronto on, yup, Friday
- Sean Nicholas Savage plays the Garrison (1197 Dundas St. W.) on Friday (I told you it was busy!) with bands seemingly called Gay and Teen Tits, which I am not sure I should be typing out, but type I must
- Fake Shark - Real Zombie headline a Friday night show at the Rickshaw in Vancouver
- On Saturday, Tokyo Police Club play Toronto's Kool Haus (132 Queens Quay E.)
- That same night, the Besnard Lakes, Suuns, and Valleys appear at Cabaret Mile End (5240 Parc) in Montreal
- Also Friday night, Sarah Harmer plays Vancouver's Commodore Ballroom (868 Granville St.)
- And finally (for me), Broken Social Scene makes up for a snow day a while back by bringing the Most Serene Republic to London Music Hall (185 Queens Ave) this Sunday night
Are you planning on seeing any of the aforementioned artists in the near future? What other local musical events and/or festivals are you most looking forward to over the next while?
