Hamilton rockers Arkells are having a serious moment right now, riding high from the success of last year's High Noon, as well as two recent Juno wins for both rock album and group of the year.
With the release of their new video for the High Noon cut "Hey Kids!," the five-piece band is giving back. Arkells are donating 100 per cent of proceeds from digital sales of the song to Partners in Health Canada, a global health organization committed to health equity amongst the poor and marginalized around the world.
"The experience of collaborating with Partners in Health and Plus One on our latest tour felt so unambiguously positive that we asked if we could offer a song to the cause," singer Max Kerman said in a press release. "Another small gesture, but I’d like to think that a collection of little good deeds adds up to something meaningful.”
The video, which you can watch below, was directed by Joe DiBenedetto and shot at the Dundas Valley Montessori School in Hamilton.
"It might be our favourite video yet," Kerman said. "If you’ve got a buck to spare and dig the tune, know that all of the proceeds are going to a good place."
