Cynthia Lennon, first wife of late Beatle John Lennon, has died at the age of 75 after a short battle with cancer. Her son, singer Julian Lennon, confirmed the news on his website.
Cynthia was born in Blackpool, England, in 1939 and married John in 1962. Julian was born the next year, within days of the Beatles releasing their third single, "From Me to You."
The Lennons divorced in 1968. John married Yoko Ono soon after. Cynthia remarried several times.
Along with the news of his mother's passing, Julian posted this musical tribute to his late mother.
