It was back in 2007 that film goers got to know the Icelandic band Sigur Ros in a very personal way. The film Heima was part musical adventure and part travelogue as the band played shows around their home country. But what was perhaps most interesting is that this film was directed by the Canadian filmmaker Dean Deblois.
And here we are again with another Sigur Ros film, this time a concert film - but also by a Canadian: Vincent Morrisset. Fresh from making Arcade Fire's Mirror Noir, the Montreal filmmaker began work on Inni - a film focussing on the band's last show from their 2008 tour...possibly their last.
I spoke to Vincent today in Montreal, the day Inni premiers around the world including tonight at the Vancouver International Film Festival.
