Who doesn't enjoy hearing from legendary music pioneers? I'm stoked about my guests this week: Joey "Shithead" Keithley and "Dirty Dan Sedan" Yaremko of Vancouver's D.O.A. Forming some 33 years ago, D.O.A. were part of the very first wave of punk rock in North America and were integral contemporaries of trailblazers like Dead Kennedys, Minor Threat, Hüsker Dü, Black Flag, Nomeansno, and even the Clash and Ramones among others. The band's on tour across Canada right now and Joey's just released a new, 300 page book called Talk - Action = 0 - An Illustrated History of D.O.A. and, when I asked him to be on the show, he insisted we meet up at a place in Kitchener, ON called Jimmy's Lunch. Let's hope they also do breakfast.

Are you a fan of D.O.A.? Any plans to see them live or to pick up their new illustrated history?

I have five Talk - Action = 0 books to give away to the first listeners who can correctly answer the following questions about today's show on the blog (if you guess in advance, a baffled pony will be unwillingly filmed by a stranger for no apparent reason):

1. What does Chubs come by to tell us about an incoming Jimmy’s Lunch customer?

2. What inspired Joey to take up music?

3. What is Dan done with after today’s breakfast?

4. How did Joey get his infamous fake last name?

5. According to Dan, what country did Effed Up follow D.O.A. to?

The answer to these questions, and possibly others, will turn up on today's show. If you end up being the first person to post the winning answer on the blog (once!), please e-mail vish_khanna [at] cbcradio3.com with "Hardcore '11" in the subject line, and your blog moniker and shipping address in your message.

What has been the weirdest Breakfast Club episode thus far? Where does the Breakfast Club need to stop next? Who needs to be on this show?

What are YOU having for breakfast? I am on twitter and WE are on twitter. Plus, now you can "Like" us by joining our Facebook page, which gets you some exclusive previews of the show and much more! Or some. Some more.
