A few days ago we caught up with Elephant Stone, the musical project of multi-instrumentalist, Rishi Dhir, one of the founding members of Montreals High Dials. The band is currently wrapping up a tour that took them to Iceland, the UK and points in between.

Home: Montreal

Members: Rishi Dhir vocals, bass, sitar, geetar
Bobby Fraser keys
Jules Pampena drums, backing vox
Gab Lambert geetar, backing vox
Greg Paquet geetar, bass

Best thing about touring?

Meeting amazing and visiting places you never thought you'd visit.

Worst thing about touring
missing home.

Some crappy or creepy thing that has happened to you on the road.
Being molested by a drunken chav in Carlisle.

Favourite thing to eat
Depends on who you ask: for Gab it was Icelandic Lamb Soup, for me it's thai or indian food and chips and curry. However we can all agree an macchiatos.

What awesome place should we know about?
Reykjavik!!!!

Most interesting person you have met on the road
Jon (Nonni) Saemundur from the Dead Skeletons in Reykjavik. He was the single most intense and peaceful person I've every met in my life.

We love stories – embarrassing, scary, good natured we want to hear one
Being in a band on the road is a good enough story as they come. I mean, missing home, waking up early, sleeping, constipation... As for a scary/creepy story, refer to previous question.

Music, silence, games – how do you keep busy in the car?
A mix of overly loud music and complete silence.

Tour Dates: after the jump

Oct 26: Liverpool, The Kazimier
Oct 27: York, Stereo
Oct 28: Manchester, Dulcimer
Nov 12: Montreal, Il Motore
