Hey it is Sunday the 22nd Jan. Pete here.

Welcome to R3 Weekend. As always holla at me here on the blog if you feel like it. No peer pressure from Pete!

You all know what a hipster is right?

This week a bunch of Harvard students unveiled their study of Hipsters and how their peer groups interact on Facebook. The HARVARD STUDY looked at the social logic behind hipster trends.

Traditional theories on youth culture suggest that tastes are spread between peers, but the Harvard study found something different in hipster circles.

Hipsters don't like to follow trends. They like to start them.

Durrrrr I could have told you that Harvard Grads!

Just go sit in a park in the summer and watch the hipsters parade by wearing the latest trend in hipsterville. One week its suspenders, the next week hippy head bands, then suddenly its cool to wear a teapot on your head.

RE: Hipsters and music? One of the researchers said...

“It’s not just about liking the band, but showing your peers that you’re hip, in the know, and socially distinct.”

Harvard  found that students who liked alternative bands were more likely to reject those bands once their friends picked up on them. I.e when bands get popluar they get ditched by the hip.

Check out this fake hipster band's electro song. Its spot on.

TheGrandSpectacular’s “Being a Dickhead’s Cool”

Personally I love hipsters. (maybe I'm a closet hipster)

How do you feel about hipsters?

Vent or praise as you please but don't be too mean.
