Katy Perry goes 3D, U2 moving in a boy band direction and John Fogerty remakes old material.

Katy Perry is heading right for you this July. Katy Perry: A Part of Me 3D, a concert movie and live documentary, will hit theatres on July 5. The trailer was released yesterday, and from the looks of it, the movie will touch on her recent divorce from comedian Russell Brand – in 3D!

U2 is reportedly working with songwriters for the U.K. boy band, One Direction. Bono and friends apparently hoped their most recent album, 2009’s No Line on the Horizon, would produce more hits, and they hope to find the solution in Swedish songwriter Carl Falk, who has written and produced hits for One Direction and Nicki Minaj. Falk confirmed the rumour, saying, “There’s a long way to go but we are doing something with U2.”

In other music legend collaboration news, John Fogerty has announced that he is teaming up with the Foo Fighters, Miranda Lambert, Bob Seger and My Morning Jacket. His new album, Wrote a Song for Everyone, will feature new music along with collaborations on classic CCR and solo tracks. The Foo Fighters will perform “Fortunate Son” with Fogerty, and Bob Seger will have a hand in “Who’ll Stop the Rain.” The full list of collaborators and the release date are still to come.
