Born Under A Bad Sign: Friday The 13th Songs

Friday the 13th is a holy day for the superstitious, with a reputation of being full of bad luck. Those who suffer from paraskavedekatriaphobia, the fear of Friday the 13th, are likely inside all day hoping that the devils of this sporadic holiday will leave them alone.

If you're concerned about what the day might bring, you're not alone: lots of talented musicians have produced odes to superstition and the darker side of life. That includes Stevie Wonder's famous fear of that "writing on the wall" and Alice Cooper's ode to rock 'n' roll horror icon Jason Voorhees. So whether you're avoiding black cats, walking under ladders or complaining about those that are, we celebrate with thirteen-inspired tracks:

Stevie Wonder 'Superstition'

Albert King & Stevie Ray Vaughan 'Born Under A Bad Sign'

The Kills 'Superstition'

Alice Cooper 'He's Back (Man Behind The Mask)'

Social Distortion 'Bad Luck'

Howlin' Wolf 'I Ain't Superstitious'

Jimi Hendrix 'Mr. Bad Luck'

Elvis Presley 'Suspicious Minds'

Big Star 'Thirteen'

Radiohead 'Lucky'

The Verve 'Lucky Man'

Frank Sinatra 'Luck Be A Lady'

Johnny Cash 'Thirteen'

And just for the hell of it... Rebecca Black 'Friday'
