Bars in Pointe-Claire, Que., just outside of Montreal, have been forced to ban hip-hop shows in order to maintain their liquor licences, leading to protests and a public outcry.
Tupac Shakur’s friend C-Bo has called Snoop Dogg And Dr. Dre "vultures" for using a hologram of the late rapper in their performance at Coachella over the weekend.
Black Thought of the Roots is hosting the Power Forward charity concert at Madison Square Garden on April 26. Featuring other rap and sports stars, the show will promote awareness for issues facing young women living in New Jersey.
The Forbes list of top-earning hip-hop artists of the past 12 months was released, and Diddy rules all, earning $550 million. Rounding out the top five are: Jay-Z ($460 million), Dr. Dre ($270 million), Birdman ($125 million) and 50 Cent ($110 million).
Kendrick Lamar and Schoolboy Q are planning to tour North America with Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller this summer, stopping by Toronto’s Molson Amphitheatre on July 29.
Raekwon and Ghostface Killah (pictured above) will appear together at NXNE in Toronto this June.
