Tempo Italian vacation: your chance to win Tafelmusik’s newest DVD

Ready for a vacation?

Tempo is taking you on a musical trip to the sunny piazzas and wine-soaked countryside of Italy this week.

Italy has one of the richest musical traditions. It has produced composers, performers and instrument makers of the highest caliber. Operatic music from Rossini, Puccini and Bellini runs through the blood of Italians. So much so, that if you were to walk down the cobblestone streets in Puccini’s day, you’d almost certainly hear someone whistling O mio babbino caro or another of his famous tunes.

And while many greats were born in Italy, many others spent their happiest days there: like Mendelssohn and Tchaikovsky, and perhaps you too! Wherever they’re from, Tempo wants to hear your best vacation stories.

Want to add some Italy to your DVD collection? You could win one of two copies of Tafelmusik’s spectacular new Galileo Project DVD.

All you have to do is write in to tempo@cbc.ca with your best vacation story. Get your answer in before the end of the day on Sunday, April 29. Your name will be entered into a draw and two winners will be chosen on Monday’s Tempo.

Here’s a clip from Tafelmusik’s Galileo Project:

Vivaldi: Concerto for 2 Violins in A major, Op. 3, No. 5. Allegro

(Note: no host or producers were sent to Italy in the making of this programming. Regrettably.)
