“In good times. In bad times. I’ll be on your side forever more. That’s what friends are for”. Those are the words I sang at my grade 8 grad, years ago. Truer words have never been spoken.
Friends are also there to help you move in exchange for mere pizza.
They’re good for pretending they haven’t heard you tell that “great” story a MILLION times.
A solid pal will look you dead in the eye and answer “yes” when you ask them if you’re acting crazy.
Over the course of my music career, I’ve had many friends like that. They helped me build up the courage to forge a career in music, and they've been a loud and clear sounding board along the way.
Today let’s salute our friends.
A few buddies of mine that you need to hear from are Camouflage Nights, Bahamas, and Sandro Perri. Listen closely for Sandro’s “Circles”, a made-for-a-rainy song that makes you feel good inside.
By the way, is there a song title that best describes your good friend? Mine would be 'Crazy' (both Aerosmith or Gnarls Barkley versions applicable).
Alanna Stuart is the lead singer of Bonjay, a band from Toronto. She's hosting every Thursday and Friday in July from 4-8pm ET (1-5pm PT).
