So... at some point in your life, you've probably heard that same old line -- that us younguns, our music is "too loud" and "too simple" and "too cruddy."
Well, it's hard to argue what's cruddy... BUT a new study has come out that shows that popular songs today have, in fact, gotten louder over the past 50 years.
It also says that the elements in today's popular songs have become simpler -- or, as the scientists say, "evidence of a progressive homogenization of the musical discourse."

And speaking of those kids and their newfangled music video tricks... you need to check out Ottawa rockers Kalle Mattson's new video for the song "Water Falls". It's already gone viral -- which isn't too surprising, because where else can you bungee jump sideways across San Francisco?
This isn't the first viral video the band has pulled off... their video for Thick as Thieves blew up on the Internet a couple of years ago. It's a great way for the band to pull in new fans -- especially because you can download all of their albums for free off their website.
What do you think about that study? The new Mattson video?
