We asked you to choose a new championship anthem for Canada, and you came back with a winner. "Electric Pow Wow Drum," an electronic-infused track from the Aboriginal trio A Tribe Called Red took top spot in our CBC Music poll. The track was the favourite among the 60 or so songs nominated by our audience. According to your votes, it should be the new anthem for Canada's athletes.

"The fact that people are voting for an Aboriginal song to represent Canada is leaps and bounds ahead of where Aboriginal people were, even 10 years ago," says Ian Campeau, a.k.a DJ NDN of A Tribe Called Red.
CBC Music's Lana Gay spoke with Campeau about his nomination, and you can hear that interview below.

The runner-up for Canada's "champthem" suggests not only a thirst for victory but also a hankering for brains – tasty, tasty brains. Buck 65's "Zombie Delight," the zombie apocalypse battle song took, the No. 2 spot in our poll. It looked to be the fan favourite in this contest, until A Tribe Called Red moved into the lead just a few hours before our polls closed at midnight CST.
We talked with Rich Terfry, a.k.a. Buck 65, about his nomination, which was given a heavy push from his social media muscles. Terfry's thoughts on how his zombies could inspire our athletes:
“If the idea is that you want to motivate an athlete, what motivates somebody more than the thought of being chased by a zombie? You’re going to run fast, swim fast, your adrenaline will kick in … as bananas as it sounds, it makes some kind of crazy sense.”
And our third place contender: "Oh ... Canada," the patriotic hit from Nova Scotia-based rapper Classified.
"Oh ... Canada"
Classified
For the song's unifying power, Lyndaler on the CBC Music blog had high praise: "Think of 'We are the Champions, We are the Champions.' ... What would be more spine tingling than hearing 30, 40, 50,000 people chanting 'OH CAN-ADA ... OH CAN-ADA ... OH CAN-ADA?'... My vote is for Classified's 'OH CANADA.'"
