Hello Radio3! I’m back for day two filling in for Meg Wilcox.

Now I couldn't be more thrilled that A Tribe Called Red is on today's playlist. They’re based out of Ottawa, my hometown, but that’s not the reason why they’re one of my favourite bands right now. It’s because they know how to make people dance!

For those unfamiliar with this group, these guys are on top of the whole dj scene here in Ottawa. They run Electric Pow Wow parties every second Saturday of the month at Babylon Nightlcub where they spin whatever is the hottest dance genre up to that minute, mixed in with their own original moombahton and dubstep tracks.

They’re also blowing up across the country, moving beyond the local weekend warrior status. Years of hard work landed them a coveted spot at last month’s Mad Decent Block Party in Toronto. Trust me, everyone in Ottawa’s DJ scene couldn’t have been more proud and jealous at the same time!
