Susan Boyle's latest album, Standing Ovation, drops next Tuesday, Nov. 13, but why wait? CBC Music offers you an exclusive sampling of five tracks from the Scottish singing sensation's upcoming release right now:

After delving into popular songs of the '60s on her sophomore album, The Gift (2010), and then covering diverse songs suggested by her fans on 2011's Someone to Watch Over Me, Boyle turns to classic songs from the golden age of film and stage on her latest recording project. The track list includes "Send in the Clowns" from A Little Night Music, "As Long as he Needs Me" from Oliver! and "Out Here on my Own" from Fame.

"I have been a fan of musicals since I was a wee girl. I love them and have enjoyed the drama and the range of emotions they inspire in you," said 51-year-old Boyle in a statement released by Sony Music. "Creating this album was a joy and came very naturally as I knew the songs and could identify with the characters in the studio."

The album features guest appearances by '70s TV star Donny Osmond and Michael Crawford, the English singing actor best known as the first Phantom in Andrew Lloyd Webber's smash hit, The Phantom of the Opera.

Standing Ovation is Boyle's fourth studio album in three years, which makes her one busy lady. Too busy, maybe? At a recent performance with Osmond in Las Vegas, "SuBo" showed signs of fatigue and frayed nerves. Either that, or she was struggling with her high heels, and was awestruck at the thought of singing alongside her former teen idol. (Boyle admits to sleeping with a blanket that had Osmond's face printed on it.)

Boyle's debut album, I Dreamed a Dream, became the top-selling album in the world in 2009, following her rags-to-riches appearance on Britain's Got Talent earlier that year.
