During the game they'll be cheering on the Buffalo Bills and Seattle Seahawks - but at halftime, Toronto football fans will be showing off their best horse dance moves as they go "Gangnam Style."
Psy's hit song has already gone 4x platinum in Canada - and now Canadians can take in the first major appearance by the Korean rapper and YouTube phenom when he touches down at Rogers Centre on December 16.
It's the second big pop coup for football in Canada, since TSN snagged Justin Bieber and Carly Rae Jepsen for halftime at the 100th Grey Cup on November 25, also happening at Rogers Centre. Other Canadian luminaries performing at that event include folk icon Gordon Lightfoot, classic rocker Burton Cummings and country favourite Johnny Reid.
It's been a milestone week for both Bieber and Psy: Bieber's hit "Baby" just passed the 800 million view mark on YouTube, where it remains the most-watched video of all time – but after just four months on the video site, Psy's "Gangnam Style" is nipping at Bieber's heels with nearly 750 million views.
Then Psy got something to write home about: in a slightly terrifying pop culture mashup, the Korean superstar performed his ubiquitous hit in New York alongside music veteran Madonna.
But while "Gangnam Style" might seem like an unlikely soundtrack for rough and tumble football types, it turns out even the players themselves have been hit with the dance craze.
