You've already seen some of the Bucky nominees for best Canadian videos, but great new Canadian videos just keep on coming. Running the visual gamut from treadmilling post-apocalyptic cockroaches to Ansel Adams-worthy seascapes, here are this week's new releases.

Metric, “Breathing Underwater”
They’re currently on their first-ever arena tour across Canada– and Metric's life on the road is the focus of this new video, which mixes behind-the-scenes concert footage and images from the highway, as well as shots of big adoration from ever-bigger crowds.

Neil Young, “Driftin’ Back”
Prepare to set aside some serioue time – 28 minutes to be exact – to watch this new video by Neil Young, which mixes vintage video of the famed musician with archival footage, then goes headlong into "whoa, dude" psychedelic imagery. Bet you never thought you’d hear Young sing “I’m going to get a hip-hop haircut” and “I might be a pagan.”

Mother Mother
, “The Sticks”
Chad VanGaalen is one of Canada’s most beloved singer-songwriters, but he’s also the talented visual artist behind this trippy new animated video, which follows post-apocalyptic forest creatures who discover a gym and start taking on human habits – until the latté-sipping cockroaches take over.

Purity Ring, “Lofticries”
It seems mundane enough to start when a dreadlocked guy walks into a bathroom, but things grow increasingly bizarre for a cast of characters who walk through surreal scenarios – from someone trapped in a vintage limo on a mechanics’ lift to a glowing baby in a chalky woman’s belly.

The Zolas, “Knot in My Heart”
It took six grueling dusk-to-dawn nights and over 3,000 frames to shoot the stop motion scenes of this striking video, in which Zach Gray sings about lingering feelings for a past love. "It was a bit excruciating,” he says. “After four hours of shooting we'd have ten measly seconds of actual footage but the worst part was that those ten seconds looked so beautiful we couldn't even whine about it."

Moonface, “Headed for the Door”
Stop motion and time lapse imagery also figure prominently in the salty seaside video for "Headed for the Door" by Moonface, the latest outlet for Spencer Krug of Wolf Parade and Sunset Rubdown. Shot in black and white, the artful video is as moody as it is beautifully nostalgic.

Yukon Blonde, “My Girl”
Front man Jeff Innes sings “You’ll be my girl,” but this latest video from B.C.'s Yukon Blonde tells a very different story as it follows a young woman who hits the town trying to get over a breakup, only to end up even more heartbroken in the end.

Peace, “Your Hand in Mine”
Vancouver’s Commercial Drive gets a few minutes of fame as Peace singer Dan Geddes fights his way through a crowd then escapes into a phone booth – yes, they still exist – where he ends up in a stare-down and smoke-up with guitarist Mike Willock. But can he get away?

The Elwins, “Forgetful Assistance”
Sometimes simpler is better, and that’s certainly the case with this lighthearted video by Ontario indie pop group the Elwins, which involves nothing more than a few iPhones, some well-choreographed images, and a catchy tune.  But sometimes simpler can be harder, too: it reportedly took three months of prep and 19 takes to get the clip right.
