Despite hip surgery and a cancelled tour, Lady Gaga still plans to record a jazz album with Tony Bennett, according to a Rolling Stone interview.
"I get along great with her," Bennett said. "She's looking forward to it and so am I."
Are you looking forward to it? At CBC Jazz we are, particularly if the duo lives up to the one collaboration thus far, "The Lady is a Tramp."
That song was recorded for Bennett's Duets ll album, and Bennett liked it so much he wanted to record an entire album with Ms. Germanotta.
You have to admire an 86-year-old who has that kind of moxy. Not that he sees the upcoming Gaga–Bennett collaboration as his last kick at the can. When Rolling Stone asked if he planned to do other albums, Bennett said, "Absolutely. I'm studying all the time, learning as much as I can."
