CBC Music is giving you the chance to be judge and jury for some of Canada's most up-and-coming musical acts. We call the contest Searchlight, and for weeks we've been filtering through Canada's promising bands and artists. We're down to the top 8, and it's still up to you to vote on who the top 4 will be. It's music democracy, with some of the best new tunes you've heard all year.
Already you can Google Map anywhere in the world, and in many places you can even get a street view of exactly what it looks at those locations. Apple recently purchased a company that does something even more. They map the indoors. You can find the bathroom from inside a mall, or the right government office inside a massive government building. But what's next? Mapping the plates in the kitchen? Mapping the lightswitch for the bathroom?
Here's a familiar sinking feeling: you get a phone bill that is hundred of dollars above what it should be after a brief trip to the States or Mexico. One father had enough. His son accidentally racked up $22 000 in charges after watching YouTube videos from Mexico. After a hard bargain, the charges were brought down to $200. For all of you flustered over a bill way too expensive, there is hope.
And as an extra kicker, here are 18 words that became obsolete, but we truly wish hadn't gone out of fashion.
