In a city full of gifted musicians (not to mention a gajillion civilians), Christine Bougie always stands out in Toronto. The highly sought-after guitarist/multi-instrumentalist has appeared on some 30 records by people like Amy Millan, Valery Gore, the Good Lovelies, and Colleen and Paul among others and she's a warm presence in Canada's music community. Her third solo record has the playful title, Aloha Supreme, and in focusing upon the lap steel guitar in particular, it showcases her distinctive exploration as an instrumentalist.
I love Christine Bougie's music! Please have a listen to her song "Bobcat" from her latest album, Aloha Supreme, and try not to think of Bobcat Goldthwait. I dare you!
