A heckuva lot of shows coming up this week, as we all start to say a collective bye bye to 2010 with a slew of gift getting, final exams, concerts, and four-year old cheddar cheese sandwiches. The cheese is old I mean, not the sandwiches. Here's some of what I'll be covering:
- C'mon, Huron, The Mercy Now, and Little Foot Long Foot are doing a Daily Bread Food Bank benefit at the Horseshoe tonight; Cheap Trick and Zeppelin covers might come to light
- On Thursday, the Joel Plaskett Emergency (pictured above) kick off a three-night stint at the Seahorse in Halifax (Shotgun Jimmie opens up night two!); Grand Theft Bus play the Manhattan in Moncton; and the Rural Alberta Advantage play Lee's Palace in Toronto
- Friday night, the Skydiggers begin their annual two-night stand at the Horseshoe in Toronto; Wax Mannequin plays the Rivoli; and the Great Bloomers have a vinyl release at a house show in Toronto
- On Monday night, Kid Koala's at the Biltmore in Vancouver
All that, plus songs by Jason Collett, PS I Love You, White Cowbell Oklahoma, Julie Doiron, and Castlemusic who are playing gigs of their own this week.
Are you planning on seeing any of the aforementioned artists in the near future? What other local musical events and/or festivals are you most looking forward to over the next while?
