A few week’s back, Singer-songwriter Krista Muir sent me an email. She was in London, had her bag stolen, along with her credit cards and passport. She was asking for money to get on the next available flight home.
At first I thought, poor thing, stuck on tour with no bags or money. Then I thought, why would I get this email? Surely, she would call a friend or parent. She wouldn’t email her pal’s at CBC. Turns out, she’d been hacked.
HAVE YOU BEEN HACKED? The victim of identity theft? Fraud?
In the process of making a DIY tin foil wallet protector?

Identity theft is everywhere. Hackers have collected millions of dollars from sob story emails like Krista’s. Tin foil lined wallets and passport sleeves have even made the news as of late in response to electronic pickpocketing. And have you noticed more spam & viruses on Facebook? What is this, myspace?!
So, what do you do to protect your email account, and your reputation? Today on the show we’ll hear from Krista Muir and see how it all worked out.
