There’s a gender pattern on this week’s CBC Radio 3 podcast. Host Craig Norris is joined in conversation with electronic folk rocker Adaline to play songs of the female persuasion with an electronic sound, and the playlist is all about indie Canadian electro ladies.
Adaline searched high and low for female-fronted electronic/pop music in Canada, and found it hard to come by. But she did find some killer songs and artists to play. Adaline and Norris discuss why there isn’t a plethora of female artists in this genre, get to the bottom of Adaline’s unrepentant love for Pearl Jam’s Ten and bring back childhood memories of Adaline’s upbringing as the daughter of a minister.
